Having been established for 40 years, the team has handled 3,518 various types of accidents, rescued 861 people in distress, restored approximately 59,730 meters of roadways, and recovered over 37 million tons of recoverable coal—equivalent to roughly 150 million yuan... The Pingzhuang team is working hard to minimize accident-related losses.
Rescue forces are indispensable, and rescue efforts have made an invaluable contribution. To reduce and prevent safety accidents in production, mining enterprises must also put their efforts into daily operations and focus on prevention from the outset. According to what we’ve learned, most of the safety accidents in which emergency responders were involved were caused by irregularities in the company’s routine operational management, a lack of awareness of safety among workers, and inadequate protective measures—accidents that could have been avoided.
Safe production cannot be addressed merely “from time to time”; rather, it must be a continuous, ongoing effort. Mining enterprises should establish and refine rules and regulations, standardize operational procedures, and enforce strict management practices on a daily basis. They must be willing to invest adequately in safe production and resolutely eliminate potential hazards at the earliest stage. Moreover, they should regularly strengthen safety training for their staff, ensuring that everyone understands that even the slightest “oversight” in safe production can lead to serious consequences.
